Rolling Hills Estates, CA is located on the northside of Palos Verdes Peninsula adjacent to South Redondo Beach and South Torrance. The city was founded in 1955 by those who wanted to maintain a rural lifestyle and equestrian community just outside of Los Angeles. Nature conservation is at the heart of the community that loves to support its local shops and restaurants. With a population of just under 10,000 residents, Rolling Hills Estates real estate contains a variety of single-family homes and properties seated on multiple acres of land with a median home price of $1.5M. Nature and Outdoors is the theme of this community. Rolling Hills Estates provides residents and visitors with a number of opportunities for recreational and sporting activities. The City owns and maintains six parks, 25 miles of equestrian trails, and 10 miles of bicycle paths. Additionally, the City has its own tennis club and stables including the Peter Weber Equestrian Center. The equestrian lifestyle thrives in this part of the city and lends itself to several community events. This active city is also home to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy which preserved undeveloped land as open space for historical, educational, ecological, recreational, and scenic purposes. Some of the best views of nature can be found while hiking through the trails of Rolling Hills.

Shop, dine, and take care of business in 3 local shopping areas including the Peninsula Center, an outdoor mall with a Regal Movie Theater. From Florists, Postal stores & Salons to Fitness Centers, Bakeries & Medical Offices everything you need is right at your fingertips! Italian Cuisine (Giorgio’s, Luna Rossa, Mama Terano and local favorites (San Pedro Fish Market Grille RHE, The Original Red Onion and Pho Hana for Korean BBQ). The nature lover in you will enjoy an afternoon at the South Coast Botanical Garden, a masterpiece of creative land reclamation and environment improvement for all to share. It is one of the world’s first botanical gardens to be developed over a sanitary landfill.
 
The Hollywood Riviera, located just down the hill in neighboring Redondo Beach provides a vast variety of shops, restaurants, local breweries, and bars. Hennessey’s Tavern and The Bullpen offer live entertainment on weekends. Additionally, Del Amo Fashion Center, the largest shopping center in the western US, is located less than 5 miles away. The mall is anchored by Nordstroms, Macy’s – including Men’s and Home store and JC Penny’s It also boasts the AMC Del Amo 18, Dave & Buster’s, a dynamic selection of dining options including a food court, a Michelin star-rated restaurant, and everything in between.
 

Things to Do

There are a number of community events throughout the year including a Birthday Party for the City held every September. During the summer months, enjoy music & cocktails under the stars with beautiful ocean views at the Summer Concert Series put on by Nelson’s @ Terranea Resort in a neighboring town, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Summer Drive-In Movie Night at the Park. Additional events include the Mayor’s Breakfast Equestrian Ride which helps to raise funds for local Boy Scout Troops; The Hills are Alive Trail Race 5k/10k has participants enjoy walking or running on the soft-packed bridle trails throughout scenic Rolling Hills Estates and the Annual Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights takes place every December and showcases lit-up floats representing local community organizations and is even televised!
 
Rolling Hills Estates is located in close proximity to 3 golf courses--Los Verdes Golf Course, Trump Golf Course & Palos Verdes Golf Club, and 2 marinas--King Harbor Marina in Redondo Beach & Cabrillo Marina in San Pedro. Marina activities include paddleboats, kayaks, and SUP rentals, gondola rides, and whale watching excursions.
