Torrance. The city was founded in 1955 by those who wanted to maintain a rural lifestyle and equestrian community just outside of Los Angeles. Nature conservation is at the heart of the community that loves to support its local shops and restaurants. Nature and Outdoors is the theme of this community. Rolling Hills Estates provides residents and visitors with a number of opportunities for recreational and sporting activities. The City owns and maintains six parks, 25 miles of equestrian trails, and 10 miles of bicycle paths. Additionally, the City has its own tennis club and stables including the Peter Weber Equestrian Center. The equestrian lifestyle thrives in this part of the city and lends itself to several community events. This active city is also home to the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy which preserved undeveloped land as open space for historical, educational, ecological, recreational, and scenic purposes. Some of the best views of nature can be found while hiking through the trails of Rolling Hills.

The nature lover in you will enjoy an afternoon at the South Coast Botanical Garden, a masterpiece of creative land reclamation and environment improvement for all to share. It is one of the world’s first botanical gardens to be developed over a sanitary landfill.
The Hollywood Riviera, located just down the hill in neighboring Redondo Beach provides a vast variety of shops, restaurants, local breweries, and bars. Hennessey’s Tavern and The Bullpen offer live entertainment on weekends. Additionally, Del Amo Fashion Center, the largest shopping center in the western US, is located less than 5 miles away. The Hills are Alive Trail Race 5k/10k has participants enjoy walking or running on the soft-packed bridle trails throughout scenic Rolling Hills Estates and the
Annual Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights takes place every December and showcases lit-up floats representing local community organizations and is even televised!
Rolling Hills Estates is located in close proximity to 3 golf courses--Los Verdes Golf Course, Trump Golf Course & Palos Verdes Golf Club, and 2 marinas--King Harbor Marina in Redondo Beach & Cabrillo Marina in San Pedro. Marina activities include paddleboats, kayaks, and SUP rentals, gondola rides, and whale watching excursions.
